The History of the Great Fire of London
On September 2nd 1666, the Great Fire of London devastated the city, engulfing residences and structures. The fire ignited in a Pudding Lane bakery, swiftly spreading amid wind and closely situated buildings. The catastrophe prompted extensive urban rebuilding and the adoption of enhanced fire safety protocols.

The design of the great fire of London depicts the ‘Monument to the Great Fire of London’ against a smoky backdrop, featuring silhouettes of people observing the monument, with one figure in the background running away. This design was created by G. Colley, a sculptor and medallist from the 20th century.
